Barker Field Rules, Approved for New Signage:

1. This is a dog park. Dog parks, for many reasons, are not a safe place for small children. Children under the age of 8 are not allowed in the dog park. Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult.
2. The City of Richmond and the Friends of Barker Field are not responsible or liable for any injury to your person or property while you are in the park area.
3. All persons entering the dog park are responsible for the animals they bring in. Please closely supervise your dog as you will be held liable for any damages inflicted by your dog to persons, pets, and property.
4. Please clean up after your dog and yourself. Keep the dog park clean and safe. (Sec. 10-86)
5. No intact (un-neutered) males are allowed in the dog park.
6. Barker Field is open from sunrise to sunset. (Sec. 26-397)
7. All dogs must be leashed when not within the confines of Barker Field. (Sec.10-175)
8. No dogs deemed “Dangerous” may enter the dog park. (Sec. 10-171)
9. No female dogs in heat are allowed in the dog park. (Sec. 10-173)
10. All dogs within the dog park must be wearing a collar with proper license attached. (Sec. 10-147)
11. All dogs within the dog park must have a current rabies vaccination and the vaccination tag on their collar. (Sec. 10-286, Sec. 10-287)
12. The Friends of Barker Field strongly encourage all dogs be current on all vaccinations including bordetella.
13. No food, alcohol, or glass bottles allowed inside the dog park. (Sec.26-387, Sec. 66-3)
14. Please be respectful of both people and pets using the dog park. Refrain from using foul language and lewd behavior. (Sec. 26-381)
15. Please discourage your dog from any mounting behavior and respect the wishes of other dog owners.
16. Please refill any holes dug by your dog.
